Temperature Range of Fish Fridge:
Storing any type of meat requires a certain temperature range. Temperature is the most important factor when it comes to maintaining the quality and increasing the shelf life of the meat. The fish meat also needs to be kept at certain temperature so that its texture and nutritious level is maintained. Even if there is a slightest change in the temperature, it can have a negative effect on the shelf life of the fish meat.
The fish meat needs to be stored in fish fridges on commercial level at the temperature close to 0 C. The temperature range of fish fridge should be kept as close to the 0 C as possible. The fish meat should be kept at this temperature before consumption. On commercial level, having a long shelf life is important in order to make sure that there is no food wastage. This food wastage can only be controlled if you have the fish meat stored in the perfect temperature.
If the temperature of the fish fridge is not kept 0 C and is higher than this can result in a rapid growth of microorganisms resulting in the fish meat being spoiled. The growth of microorganisms can result in shortening of the shelf life and in food wastage. For example, the shelf life of a cod fillet is estimated to be 10 to 12 days if the temperature is kept 0 C. if the temperature of the fish fridge is 4 C to 5 C then the shelf life is decreased to 5 to 6 days. If the temperature goes up to 10 C then the shelf life of cod fillet is reduced to just 2 to 3 days.
The fish meat can go bad very quickly so it is very important to get the fish meat from the insulated or refrigerated delivery to the fish fridge from tecfrigo very quickly. The fish should be transferred form the delivery vehicle to the refrigerator very quickly. If you want to freeze the fish meat, then it also has to be done very quickly. The freezing of the fish meat should be quick and at a very low freezing temperature. The freezing temperature should be below -20 degrees C. If the fish meat is not frozen at the right temperature it can very negative effect on the texture of the fish meat.
After freezing when the fish is thawed it should be done at a low temperature. You can leave the fish to thaw overnight in the refrigerator. After the fish has been thawed it needs to store at a temperature which is closes to 0 C.
